Paper Street ricorda Gerry Rafferty

Nella notte del 4 Gennaio, a soli 63 anni, ci ha lasciato Gerry Rafferty, ucciso dall'alcolismo, la piaga che lo ha tormentato per tutta la sua vita.
“Well another crazy day, you'll drink the night away, and forget about everything.”
Già lo diceva, nella sua canzone più famosa. Già sapeva come sarebbe andata a finire. Gerald “Gerry” Rafferty, musicista britannico, scozzese di nascita, è morto lo scorso 4 Gennaio per complicazioni al fegato in seguito all'abuso di alcol. Il suo più grande successo è l'immortale “Baker Street”, canzone che celebra una delle vie più famose di Londra, inconfondibile soprattutto per via di quello straordinario riff iniziale di sax. Per questa canzone, oltre 5 miliardi di passaggi radiofonici l'anno nel mondo.
Altro grande successo firmato Rafferty è “Stuck In The Middle With You”, nota probabilmente al grande pubblico in quanto inserita all'interno della colonna sonora di Le Iene di Quentin Tarantino.
